Privacy Policy

Overview

Terminowo is a mobile application that helps you track expiry dates of insurance documents and other important papers by scanning them with your camera. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

Data Stored on Your Device

All user data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to any server operated by us.

• Document images — photos you take with the in-app camera are saved to app-private storage on your device.
• Document metadata — expiry dates, document names, categories, and reminder preferences are stored in a local database.

We do not operate any backend servers. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.

Data Shared with Third-Party Services

Google Document AI

When you scan a document, the image is sent to Google Document AI for optical character recognition (OCR) to extract expiry dates. The image data is processed by Google in accordance with the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Google Document AI does not use your data to train models.

Authentication

The app does not require a user account or sign-in. All functionality is available without authentication. Document AI requests are authenticated via a server-side API key and do not involve any user credentials.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No analytics, crash reporting, or usage telemetry collected by us
• No location data
• No contacts, call logs, or personal files outside the app
• No data is transmitted to servers owned or operated by us

Permissions

• Camera — required to scan documents.
• Notifications — used to send expiry date reminders, scheduled locally on your device.
• Internet — required to send document images to Google Document AI for OCR processing.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual documents within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all data. Images sent to Google Document AI for OCR are processed transiently and are not retained by Google after processing is complete.

Google Play Data Safety

The following table summarizes the data safety disclosures for Google Play:

• Data is not used for advertising, marketing, or tracking.
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
• Users can request deletion by uninstalling the app or deleting documents within the app.

Apple App Store

For the purposes of Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework: this app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. No data is used for tracking as defined by Apple.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us so we can address the concern.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
